Trump's social network is built on a platform it didn't properly license

Add a license error to a list of problems faced by former President Donald Trump’s Social Media Network. Freedom Conservancy (SFC) software said Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) violated the license agreement when recently launched a social social test version. The website runs a modified Mastodon version, a free platform and open-source to operate social media networks like Twitter. Anyone can use Mastodon as long as they comply with AGPLV3, the software license that regulates the code.

One of Agplv3’s main provisions is that the license holder must share their source code with all users. In a short time the social test version of the truth was awake earlier today, it didn’t do that. Now, Freedom Conservancy software, an organization that imposes an open source software license, says TMTG has 30 days to comply with AGPLV3 or face the consequences.

“The license deliberately treats all the same people (even people we don’t like or agree), but they must operate under the same rules of the copyleft license that applies to everyone,” SFC said in a blog post.

It is said that the company must “immediately” make the social source code of truth available to everyone who accessed this site that day. If TMTG fails to do it in 30 days, it will permanently lose access to the software used to build the platform. “That’s how to supply Agplv3 drugs – there are no exceptions – even if you are a real estate mogul, television star reality, or even a former potus,” SFC said. If TMTG does not obey the request, it can face a lawsuit. “We will follow this problem very carefully and demand that the Trump group provide a suitable source for all who use the site,” SFC said.

In closing, SFC shares details about how social truth is damaged at the beginning of the day. It was said to not find anyone’s evidence “illegally broken” into the website. Instead, he recorded episodes was the result of an inappropriate configuration. “After being found, people only use sites legally to register an account and use its features,” said the organization.
